Appointment Cancellation & Non-Attendance Policy

At Melbourne Medical & Skin Cancer Centre, we understand that circumstances can change and you may need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

Cancellation or Rescheduling

Patients are kindly requested to provide at least 2 hours' notice if they need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Appointments cancelled or rescheduled with sufficient notice can be rebooked without a cancellation fee.

Late Cancellation

A late cancellation fee of $30 may apply where an appointment is cancelled or rescheduled with less than 2 hours' notice.

Non-Attendance

If you do not attend your appointment and have not contacted the practice, a $50 non-attendance fee may apply. This fee is not claimable from Medicare.

Repeated Non-Attendance

Patients who repeatedly miss appointments or cancel at short notice may be required to pay a deposit or the applicable cancellation fee before future appointments can be booked.

Exceptional Circumstances

We understand that emergencies and unexpected circumstances can occur. Cancellation fees may be waived at the discretion of the practice where there are reasonable or exceptional circumstances.

Important

Please contact reception as soon as possible if you are unable to attend your appointment. Giving adequate notice allows us to offer the appointment to another patient who may need medical care.
